Begin Your Journey With Ignite Training Tracks

Ignite FeatureCAM

The Ignite Feature CAM training teaches you to visualize safe toolpaths through simulation and program parts to perform at an optimum level. You’ll use feature recognition, automation tools, and other advanced techniques. We’ll cover everything FeatureCAM offers. You will walk away with a solid understanding of the basics.

Beginning topics include:

  • Using Automatic Feature Recognition
  • Directed Automatic Feature Recognition
  • Interactive Feature Recognition
  • Creating toolpaths on surfaces or curves

Next, you will learn to verify with machine simulation and export posted codes for machining. Later classes dive into specialized machining strategies, including:

  • Steep and Shallow
  • Part handling on turn-mill applications
  • Interactive Feature Recognition
  • Critical setups for 3+1 and 3+2 machining
  • Applying simultaneous 4 and 5 axis toolpaths to finish parts

Ignite PowerMill

The Ignite PowerMill training track fast tracks your part-to-program success. In this five-day track, you’ll start with the fundamentals of PowerMill and graduate to advanced 5-axis simultaneous programming. You’ll learn to safely and efficiently program parts with Autodesk’s most advanced CAM milling platform.

Topics Include:

  • Creating work planes, blocks, and setups
  • Generating roughing and finishing toolpaths on surfaces and prismatic features recognized on models
  • Generating roughing and finishing toolpaths on surfaces and prismatic features recognized on models
  • Editing toolpaths to maximize efficiency by removing unwanted segments
  • Machine tool axis control for 3+2 and simultaneous 5 axis toolpaths
  • Gauge, tool collision, and machine tool checking to verify safe toolpaths
  • Generating NC programs and setup sheets

Ignite CFD

The Ignite CFD track teaches you the fundamental concepts critical to success in Autodesk CFD. You’ll learn how to minimize the need for physical prototypes while gaining deeper insight into fluid flow design performance. Together, we explore the entire Workflow, from importing geometry to interrogating and sharing results.

Beginning topics include:

  • Industrial components
  • Electronics cooling
  • Building and design
  • HVAC

Ignite Moldflow Advisor

In this Ignite Moldflow Advisor track, discover the capabilities of Autodesk Moldflow Adviser to simulate injection molded plastic parts to minimize part defects and molding challenges.

You will be introduced to a theoretical background on injection molding and plastic part design. Discover how best to streamline the process with the user interface and simulation adviser tools.

Together we cover simulations such as:

  • Industrial components
  • Gate location
  • Fill analysis
  • Molding window
  • Cooling quality
  • Sink marks
  • The ENTIRE molding cycle through Cool/Fill/Pack/Warp analysis

You’ll learn how to model runners and cooling circuits and account for these mold design features in evaluating the processability and dimensional stability of plastic parts. In the end, we finish with lessons in results interpretation and advanced modeling tips.

Ignite Moldflow Insight

In the Ignite Moldflow Insight track, you’ll use Autodesk Moldflow Insight to perform various simulations in the program and discover why tools apply to your user persona within the injection molding industry.

You’ll learn how to model the molding process in detail to account for these design features when evaluating the processability and dimensional stability of plastic parts. You finish with lessons in results interpretation and a hands-on approach to adopting Moldflow within your design process.

Together we cover topics such as:

  • Getting a quick-start Introduction to Moldflow Insight
  • Model preparation and basic analysis workflow
  • Checking for part defects (knit lines, short shots, air traps, sink marks, etc.)
  • Essentials for successful mold filling and pack analysis
  • Multi-material molding (two-shot, over-molding)
  • Modeling a mold within Insight
  • Laying out detailed cooling lines and runners
  • Analyzing fiber-reinforced materials, including transfer to Inventor Nastran for stress analysis
  • Setting up a Design-of-Experiment to optimize the molding window
  • In-depth analysis of part warpage
